Day 1 – Arrival in Tanzania

Your 12 Days Grand Tanzania Safari begins with arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you are warmly welcomed by your safari guide and transferred to your lodge in Arusha. Depending on arrival time, you can relax after the journey or receive a detailed safari briefing about the adventure ahead. Your guide explains the itinerary, wildlife destinations, and travel preparations while ensuring a comfortable start to the experience. The evening offers time to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of northern Tanzania before dinner and overnight at the lodge in preparation for the safari across some of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife regions.


Day 2 – Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, the safari begins with a drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its ancient baobab trees and large elephant populations. The park offers excellent opportunities to encounter lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and various antelope species. During the game drive, your guide shares insight about wildlife behavior, local ecosystems, and conservation efforts while exploring different habitats throughout the park. Picnic lunch is enjoyed inside Tarangire before continuing the safari in the afternoon. Day 3 – Full Day in Tarangire National Park

Today is dedicated to exploring the diverse landscapes and wildlife of Tarangire National Park. Morning and afternoon game drives provide opportunities to visit remote areas of the park while searching for predators, elephants, and birdlife around the Tarangire River. Seasonal wildlife movements often attract large numbers of animals, creating exceptional game viewing experiences. Day 4 – Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, the journey continues toward Lake Manyara National Park located beneath the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park is famous for its lush groundwater forest, diverse birdlife, hippos, elephants, and tree-climbing lions. During the game drive, you explore a variety of habitats ranging from dense forest to open lakeshore environments. Flamingos and other water birds often gather near the lake depending on the season. Your guide shares information about the unique ecosystem while searching for wildlife throughout the park. Dinner and overnight are at a lodge near Karatu surrounded by scenic highland landscapes.


Day 5 – Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park

Today the safari continues toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the route, you pass Maasai villages, volcanic highlands, and breathtaking viewpoints overlooking the plains. Upon entering Serengeti, wildlife viewing begins immediately as the park supports lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, and countless grazing animals. Depending on the season, you may witness part of the Great Migration crossing the savannah. The endless plains create one of Africa’s most iconic safari environments. Dinner and overnight are at a lodge or tented camp located inside the Serengeti.


Day 6 – Full Day in Serengeti National Park

A full day in Serengeti National Park allows extensive exploration of one of Africa’s greatest wildlife destinations. Morning and afternoon game drives provide opportunities to encounter predators, herbivore herds, and numerous bird species across the vast plains. Early morning hours are especially rewarding as wildlife becomes more active during cooler temperatures. Your guide tailors the safari experience based on recent sightings and seasonal wildlife movements while sharing insight about the Serengeti ecosystem. Picnic lunch is enjoyed in the bush before continuing the safari adventure. Dinner and overnight are once again in the Serengeti wilderness.


Day 7 – Another Day in Serengeti National Park

Today offers additional time to discover different regions of Serengeti National Park while maximizing opportunities to encounter the Big Five and other iconic African wildlife. The changing landscapes and dramatic skies create exceptional photography conditions throughout the day. Depending on the season, your guide may focus on migration routes, predator territories, or remote wildlife-rich areas rarely visited by other travelers. Between game drives, there is time to relax at the lodge or camp while enjoying the unique atmosphere of the African savannah. Dinner and overnight are once again in Serengeti National Park.


Day 8 – Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast and a final morning game drive, the safari continues toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Wildlife sightings remain possible during the drive while the scenery gradually changes from endless plains to lush volcanic highlands. Along the journey, you enjoy panoramic landscapes and opportunities to learn about the Maasai communities living within the conservation area. Day 9 – Ngorongoro Crater Safari

Day 10 – Ngorongoro to Lake Eyasi

After breakfast, the journey continues toward Lake Eyasi, a remote and culturally rich destination located south of the Ngorongoro Highlands. The region is home to the Hadzabe and Datoga communities, some of Tanzania’s most fascinating indigenous cultures. Upon arrival, you enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the lake and surrounding landscapes while learning about local traditions and ways of life. Depending on timing, cultural visits or guided walks may be arranged during the afternoon. Dinner and overnight are at a lodge near Lake Eyasi surrounded by beautiful natural scenery and traditional rural environments.


Day 11 – Lake Eyasi Cultural Experience

Today is dedicated to cultural exploration around Lake Eyasi with opportunities to visit local communities and experience traditional lifestyles rarely seen elsewhere in East Africa. Guided activities may include meeting the Hadzabe hunter-gatherers, learning about traditional hunting techniques, or visiting the Datoga blacksmith communities. Throughout the experience, your guide provides insight into the history, customs, and challenges faced by these unique cultures. The region also offers beautiful landscapes and birdlife around the lake itself. In the evening, you return to your lodge for dinner and overnight near Lake Eyasi.


Day 12 – Return to Arusha and Departure

After breakfast, the safari concludes with a scenic drive back to Arusha. Along the journey, you pass local villages, coffee farms, and the beautiful landscapes of northern Tanzania while reflecting on the experiences of the previous days. Depending on your departure schedule, optional visits to local markets or cultural centers can be arranged before transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
