Day 1 – Arrival in Tanzania
Your Great Wildebeest Migration Spectacle adventure begins with arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you are welcomed by your safari guide and transferred to your lodge in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you can relax after the journey or receive a detailed safari briefing about the upcoming migration experience. Day 2 – Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, the safari begins with a drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its giant baobab trees and large elephant populations. The park offers excellent opportunities to encounter lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and numerous antelope species. Day 3 – Tarangire to Central Serengeti
Today the journey continues toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the route, you pass Maasai villages, volcanic highlands, and breathtaking viewpoints overlooking the endless plains. Upon entering Serengeti, wildlife viewing begins immediately as the park supports lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, and large grazing herds. Day 4 – Full Day in Central Serengeti
A full day in Central Serengeti allows extensive exploration of one of Africa’s richest wildlife regions. Morning and afternoon game drives provide opportunities to encounter predators, resident herbivore herds, and a wide variety of bird species across the plains. Depending on the season, you may begin to witness sections of the Great Wildebeest Migration moving through the ecosystem. Day 5 – Serengeti Migration Tracking Safari

Your guide adjusts the safari route based on recent wildlife movements and seasonal migration locations to maximize opportunities for unforgettable sightings. Massive herds of wildebeests and zebras attract predators including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas, creating dramatic wildlife encounters throughout the day. Day 6 – Northern or Southern Serengeti Exploration
After breakfast, the safari continues into either Northern or Southern Serengeti depending on the migration season and herd location. Northern Serengeti is famous for dramatic Mara River crossings, while Southern Serengeti offers incredible calving season experiences with thousands of newborn wildebeests spread across the plains. Throughout the day, your guide shares detailed insight about migration behavior, predator interactions, and the unique Serengeti ecosystem. The vast open landscapes and constant wildlife activity create one of the world’s greatest safari experiences. Dinner and overnight are at a carefully selected lodge or migration camp.
Day 7 – Another Full Day Following the Migration
Today offers additional time to fully experience the Great Wildebeest Migration and maximize wildlife viewing opportunities. Game drives focus on migration hotspots, predator territories, and scenic regions of Serengeti National Park where wildlife concentrations are highest. Depending on the season, you may witness dramatic predator hunts, river crossings, or massive herds moving across the plains. Between game drives, there is time to relax at the camp while enjoying the atmosphere of the African wilderness. Dinner and overnight are once again in the Serengeti surrounded by remarkable wildlife scenery.
Day 8 – Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast and a final morning game drive, the safari continues toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Wildlife sightings remain possible during the journey while the scenery gradually changes from endless plains to lush volcanic highlands. Along the route, you enjoy panoramic landscapes and opportunities to learn about Maasai culture and traditions. Upon arrival near the crater rim, spectacular views overlook the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most extraordinary natural wonders. Dinner and overnight are at a lodge near the crater where cooler temperatures and scenic surroundings create a peaceful atmosphere.
Day 9 – Ngorongoro Crater Safari and Return to Arusha
Today you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a final game drive across its wildlife-rich floor. The crater supports an exceptional concentration of animals including lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, and the endangered black rhino. The enclosed ecosystem provides excellent opportunities to encounter the Big Five while surrounded by dramatic volcanic scenery. Picnic lunch is enjoyed near a hippo pool before continuing exploration of the crater’s forests, wetlands, and grasslands.
