7 Days Big Five Safari

Day 1 – Arrival in Tanzania

Your 7 Days Big Five Safari begins with arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you are welcomed by your safari guide and transferred to your lodge in Arusha. Depending on arrival time, you can relax after the journey or receive a detailed safari briefing about the adventure ahead. Your guide explains the itinerary, wildlife destinations, and travel preparations while ensuring a smooth start to the experience. The evening offers time to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of northern Tanzania before dinner and overnight at the lodge in preparation for the safari through some of Africa’s most famous wildlife regions.

Day 2 – Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, the safari begins with a drive to Tarangire National Park, a destination renowned for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. The park offers excellent opportunities to encounter lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and numerous antelope species. During the game drive, your guide shares insight about animal behavior, local ecosystems, and conservation efforts while navigating through the diverse landscapes. Picnic lunch is enjoyed inside the park before continuing the safari in the afternoon. In the evening, you arrive at your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

Today the journey continues toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the route, you pass Maasai villages, volcanic highlands, and breathtaking viewpoints overlooking the plains. Upon entering Serengeti, wildlife viewing begins immediately as the endless savannah supports lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, and countless grazing animals. Depending on the season, you may witness part of the Great Migration moving across the ecosystem. Your guide carefully searches for wildlife while explaining the complex predator-prey relationships of the Serengeti. Dinner and overnight are at a lodge or tented camp inside the park.

Day 4 – Full Day in Serengeti National Park

A full day in Serengeti National Park allows extensive exploration of one of Africa’s greatest safari destinations. Morning and afternoon game drives provide opportunities to encounter predators, large herbivore herds, and a variety of bird species throughout the plains. Early morning hours are especially rewarding as wildlife becomes more active during cooler temperatures. The open landscapes create exceptional opportunities for photography while your guide tailors the safari based on recent wildlife movements and sightings. Picnic lunch is served in the bush before continuing the adventure. Dinner and overnight are once again in the Serengeti wilderness.

Day 5 – Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast and a final morning game drive, the safari continues toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Wildlife sightings remain possible during the journey while the scenery gradually changes from endless plains to lush volcanic highlands. Along the route, you enjoy panoramic views and opportunities to learn about the Maasai communities living within the conservation area. Upon arrival near the crater rim, spectacular views overlook the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most extraordinary natural wonders. Dinner and overnight are at a lodge located near the crater where cooler temperatures create a peaceful mountain atmosphere.

Day 6 – Ngorongoro Crater Safari

Today you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable safari across its wildlife-rich floor. The crater supports an exceptional concentration of animals including lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, zebras, wildebeests, and the endangered black rhino, offering excellent opportunities to encounter the famous Big Five. The enclosed ecosystem provides remarkable game viewing throughout the day while surrounded by dramatic volcanic scenery. Picnic lunch is enjoyed near a hippo pool before continuing exploration of the crater’s forests, grasslands, and wetlands. In the afternoon, you return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 – Lake Manyara National Park and Return to Arusha
